Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an hourly/per diem Registered Nurse 1, NS35 NICU to deliver high-quality neonatal care in a fast-paced unit.

You will provide direct nursing care under supervision, participate in care planning, monitor patients, and educate families. NY state RN license required; BSN preferred; 1 year of NICU or relevant experience encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must hold a New York State registered professional nurse license.
• BSN degree preferred.
• 1 year of relevant clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to neonates in the NICU under supervision.
• Cary out nursing procedures, administer medications, and monitor patient conditions.
• Record medical notes, update care plans, and document vitals and treatments.
• Participate in care plan development and revisions as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Educate families about health, medications, and treatment goals.
• Ensure infection control policies are followed and train staff as needed.
