Job summary

Healthier Mississippi People (HMP) seeks a registered nurse to assess, develop, implement and evaluate nursing care in an assigned clinical area. You will coordinate patient scheduling, records, and admissions, and counsel patients and families on treatments.

You will liaise with Case Managers, Home Health nurses, Utilization Review, and other services to coordinate patient care and maintain records. You will also serve as a preceptor and participate in committees to improve patient care.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Associate's degree in Nursing or diploma.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating treatments and interventions.
• Educate patients and families on condition, diet and medications.
• Ensure patient safety.
• Coordinate referrals and maintain patient records.
• Act as a preceptor per UMMC guidelines.
• Serve on committees or task forces to improve care.
• Report issues to supervisor and manage workload.
