Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services in Mississippi is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide safe, patient-centered care on assigned units. You will apply the nursing process, document care, and participate in daily huddles with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate shifts.

You will educate patients and families, support new staff via preceptor activities, maintain regulatory compliance, and stay current with evolving nursing practices.

Qualifications

• Must hold a licensed RN in Mississippi.
• CPR certification required.
• ACLS certification may be required depending on department.
• PALS certification may be required depending on department.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to provide safe, quality patient care and document accordingly.
• Works to ensure compliance with NMHS policies and requirements as directed by the Nurse Manager and Educator.
• Provides patient/family education and acts as a resource for existing staff and new employees.
• Maintains communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care to the patient.
• Attends daily huddles to ensure proper assignments and identify team members for the shift.
• Projects caring, friendly and helpful image to patients and other customers.
• Complies with NMHS behavioral standards.
• Maintains competency by staying informed of changing trends in nursing practice.
• Attends annual review and unit specifics within the department.
• Performs required continuing education hours online and in classroom.
• Complies with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.
• Licensed by the board of Nursing for the state.
