Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a NICU Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high‑quality patient care in the NICU using the nursing process. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and supervising students as needed.

The role requires RN licensure, an associate degree, and certifications in BLS, STABLE, and NRP or NRP instructor. No travel and no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of start
• STABLE certification within 6 months
• NRP certification or NRP instructor within 90 days of start

• Deliver quality patient care using the nursing process in the NICU.
• Coordinate with the care team and supervise students as directed by area supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with clinical nursing practice and regulatory requirements.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direction of the Nursing Director or Supervisor, the NICU Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The NICU RN is responsible for directing all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice and federal, state, and local regulations. The NICU RN incorporates knowledge of patient’s age specific development and cultural values into the plan of care. The NICU RN contributes to quality nursing care through process improvement techniques and multidisciplinary collaboration that demonstrates positive outcomes in the delivery of patient care. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• STABLE must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree
• Neonate Resuscitate, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program Instructor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
