Ask your recruiter for details.Job SummaryThe Respiratory Care Practitioner III provides respiratory care through assessment, planning, intervention, education, and evaluation. Performs procedures such as oxygen and aerosolized medication delivery, ventilator care, bronchial hygiene, diagnostics, and education. Monitors patient responses and recommends modifications as needed.
Essential Functions- Provides clinical instruction and in-service training to staff and students.
- Supports clinical learning through mentorship and rounds, providing leadership across care settings.
- Offers feedback for coaching and performance evaluations.
- Identifies quality improvement initiatives and leads clinical research efforts.
- Handles data collection, record keeping, and product evaluation.
- Participates in facility councils and committees.
- Serves as shift Charge Therapist, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage.
- Assists physicians with procedures like bronchoscopy, tracheotomy, and invasive monitoring.
- Performs CPR and airway management per AHA ACLS protocols.
- Conducts therapeutic procedures, manages airway devices, and documents care.
- Monitors and evaluates mechanical ventilators, performs pulmonary function tests, and maintains equipment.
- Acts as preceptor and assesses patient status to modify treatments accordingly.
- Administers therapies such as IPPB, aerosol, oxygen, and more, observing patient responses.
- Instructs patients and families on therapies and equipment use.
- Collects specimens and performs blood gas analyses, including ABG interpretation.
- Maintains respiratory equipment and responds to emergencies.
Education- Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program (required).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in related fields preferred.
Licensing & Certifications- Current Respiratory Care License in the state (required).
- NBRC credential and RRT certification (required).
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (required).
- NRP, CPFT, RPFT, and ACCS preferred.
Experience- Minimum of 2 years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or 5 years CRT with competency in NICU/PICU, ICU, ED, or general care (required).

- Data interpretation and patient assessment skills.
- Knowledge of respiratory equipment and procedures.
Training- EPIC EHR training preferred.
