Job summary

Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH seeks a Neonatal Registered Respiratory Therapist I (NICU RRT–I) to perform neonatal respiratory assessment, therapy, and airway management in a Level III NICU. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform neonatal respiratory assessments and therapies in a Level III NICU.
• Provide airway management including assisted intubation, resuscitation and stabilization.
• Educate and communicate with families and the health care team.
• Maintain compliance with Ohio Respiratory Care laws and institutional policies.
• Collaborate with neonatal care team to ensure quality patient experience.
• Interface with department on quality and process improvements.

NICU RESP THERP I – REG(

The Neonatal Registered Respiratory Therapist — (NICU RRT — I), functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of respiratory care. The NICU RRT–I will be responsible for the respiratory assessment, therapeutic treatment, evaluation, testing, education and communication as it pertains to the patients and processes in the Level III NICU. The NICU RRT–I will provide neonatal airway management, including intubation with assistance, resuscitation and stabilization for all high-risk deliveries. The NICU RRT–I must interface with all members of the neonatal health care team. The NICU RRT–I is expected to provide an exceptional patient experience for our babies and their families. The NICU RRT–I is responsible for maintaining compliance with the Ohio Respiratory Care Laws, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional and system policies.

Additional requirements:

• § Type of degree: Applied Science or the Equivalent
• § Area of study or major: Respiratory Care or NBRC approved registry requirements
• § Preferred educational qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree

• Valid Ohio Respiratory Care License
• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential through NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
• BLS
• NRP within 30 days.

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 – 3 years of job-related experience

Prior job title or occupational experience: Respiratory Therapist

Prior specific functional responsibilities: Critical Care or Neonatal Respiratory Care

Preferred** experience: Previous neonatal intubation experience
