Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn is seeking a Registered Nurse in the NICU to provide high-quality nursing care to a group of neonatal patients. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans and ensure patient safety.

The role requires an NYS RN license, BLS certification, and the ability to administer medications and manage urgent clinical situations. Preferred candidates have 3–5 years of NICU experience and BSN education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• RN license in NYS.
• BLS certification required.
• NRP within 6 months.
• 3–5 years NICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as aligned with the mission and values of the organization.
• Documents patient assessment, reassessment, progress toward goals, and all required documentation accurately and timely.
• Promotes patient safety and quality, including adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with health care team, escalating situations appropriately.
• Establishes caring relationships with staff, patients, families and other team members.
• Administers medications and parenteral therapy per policy, including blood administration.
• Sets priorities for patient care and uses critical thinking to coordinate tasks.
• Provides patient/family education and assists in discharge planning.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide nursing care across physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and age-related criteria.
