AHMC HealthCare seeks aClinical Nurse Specialist to direct nursing practice in the NICU and Pediatric Unit. The role emphasizes educational development, staff competency, and coordination of discharge planning, with ongoing consultation on complex neonatal and pediatric issues.

Required are CA RN licensure, CNS certification, MSN, and NICU experience including neonatal certifications (NCC) and NRP. This position ensures regulatory compliance and high-quality patient education for families.

Qualifications

Must hold valid RN license to practice in California.
CNS certification by the California State Board of Registered Nursing.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
Current Neonatal Certification (NCC) and NRP certification required.
Minimum three years of clinical neonatal nursing experience, with NICU exposure.

Responsibilities

Direct the clinical nursing practice in the NICU and Pediatric Unit.
Coordinate and assess educational development and clinical competency of NICU nursing staff; maintain neonatal critical care competency via ongoing education for new and experienced staff.
Consult with staff on complex neonatal critical care nursing issues.
Oversee parent/primary caregiver education activities.
Ensure implementation of a coordinated and effective discharge planning program.
Evaluate NICU and Pediatric Unit based on Accrediting and Regulatory Agencies.
Coordinate education and competency for Pediatric Unit nursing staff; ensure ongoing pediatric nursing competency.
