Job summary

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is seeking experienced NICU nurses for multiple shifts in Newport Beach and Irvine. The role covers Maternal Child Health, Perinatology, LDR, Mother/Baby, LDRP and NICU with emphasis on high-quality, family-centered care.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, collaboration with the health care team, nursing process application, discharge planning, and participation in unit councils.

Qualifications

• Sixteen (16) hours of lactation education and four (4) hours of demonstrated bedside hands-on competencies within 6 months of hire required.
• Level I: BSN required or started; 6 months RN experience preferred in acute care.
• Level II: BSN required; 1 year NICU RN experience required.
• Level III: BSN required; National Certification; 3 years NICU RN experience required.
• Level IV: MSN required; National Certification; 4 years NICU RN experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in maternal child health including Perinatology, LDR, Mother/Baby, LDRP and NICU.
• Collaborate with care team to ensure safe, timely, high-quality care.
• Utilize nursing process and evidence-based practice; perform assessments, interventions, medication administration, and education.
• Participate in Hoag Committee/Council with 50% attendance and UPC reporting; complete four supplemental activities annually.

Education

BSN required or BSN started within 1 year and completed within 2 years

2+ years RN experience in Level I setting preferred

NICU RN experience 1 year (Level II)

BSN required (Level II)

National Certification (NICU) required (Level III/IV)

MSN required (Level IV)

Lactation education 16 hours

Hands-on NICU competencies 4 hours
