Job summary

Covenant Children's Hospital in Texas is seeking a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) specialist to support orientation, competency management, education, and role development for nursing staff.

The NPD practitioner acts as a change agent and mentor, partnering with practice leaders to advance population health and ensure high-quality, patient-centered care across the hospital and affiliated programs.

Qualifications

• Must meet the criteria to sit for the NCLEX examination and become licensed in the state of Texas.
• 1 year recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
• 3 years related experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience with ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program preferred.
• Experience as a nurse planner in an ANCC approved provider unit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support orientation and onboarding, competency management, and education for nursing staff.
• Lead role development and collaborative partnerships to improve practice transitions.
• Coordinate inquiry and continuous learning to elevate population health outcomes.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Texas Registered Nurse License

National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Master's Degree in Nursing
