The role requires administering pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic respiratory care, documenting accurately, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include ABG punctures, ventilator management, and bedside support. Licensing and certifications (RRT, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE) are required as applicable by unit and state

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of respiratory experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP and STABLE certifications often required depending on NICU.
• State-specific licensure or certifications may apply.

Responsibilities

• Administers advanced respiratory treatments and monitors patient responses.
• Orients patient to treatment modality prior to procedure.
• Performs ABG punctures accurately and reports results.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures as assigned.
• Performs pulmonary testing procedures as assigned.
• Follows respiratory protocols and safety guidelines.
