Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY, is seeking a NICU nurse to provide direct patient care under established policies, procedures, and protocols. This role is part-time (0.6 FTE) with weekend requirements and 12-hour shifts from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, develop and monitor care plans, and support discharge planning while educating families and complying with Nurse Practice Act, BLS, and NRP requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or diploma in nursing required upon hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required within 5 years of employment.
• RN license to practice in Kentucky required upon hire.
• BLS within 45 days; NRP within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care per policies and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
• Coordinate with disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess discharge planning needs with patient/family and team.
• Educate patient and family based on age, culture and willingness to learn.
• Perform duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
