Job summary

Northwest Medical Center Tucson is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a full-time night shift. The RN will provide patient-centered care using the nursing process, coordinate with physicians and the care team, and educate families on treatment plans and discharge needs.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, and assisting with procedures and life-support activities as needed. Minimum 1–2 years in acute care required; BLS mandatory, ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role in an acute care setting required
• Strengths in assessment, documentation, and patient education as part of nursing process
• Ability to collaborate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals in NICU care
• Knowledge of infection control standards and patient safety practices
• Proficiency in medication administration and prioritization in high-acuity settings

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process per unit policies.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Administer medications, monitor effects, and document administration.
• Assist with procedures,Ventilation support and IV therapies.
• Provide ongoing teaching to families about care plans and discharge needs.
• Maintain safety and infection control standards in a busy NICU.
