Job summary

Arkansas Children\'s Hospital in Little Rock is seeking a Lactation Specialist for the NICU on a part-time basis. The role provides comprehensive assessment of mother-infant dyads, develops care plans with the medical team, and supports breastfeeding education for families.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree or 2 years of relevant experience; Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) and RN license in Arkansas or a compact state. A Bachelor’s Degree and IBCLC are recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive assessment of the mother/infant dyad and the breastfeeding/lactation process.
• Communicates assessments with the medical team and documents findings.
• Identifies mothers needing lactation support and education.
• Develops care plans with nursing and medical staff and implements care.
• Participates in rounds, discharge planning and Lactation Rounds.
• Delivers patient teaching on lactation and breast milk handling and storage.
