Job summary

The Children’s Pharmacy team is seeking a residency-trained Clinical Pharmacist to join the NICU team. The pharmacist will provide direct clinical pharmacy services to critically ill neonates and support safe, effective, and evidence-based medication management.

This on-site position includes on-call rotation and no travel requirements, with opportunities to educate staff and participate in clinical research and performance-improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• PharmD degree required.
• Completion of a PGY2 Residency in Pediatrics; NICU-focused residency experience preferred.
• Active Texas Pharmacy license.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical pharmacy services and support continuity of patient care.
• Serve as a resource to physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, students, and residents.
• Educate, mentor, and support pharmacy students, staff, residents, and peers.
• Identify opportunities to improve clinical pharmacy services and contain costs.
• Participate in clinical research evaluating drug therapy and clinical/economic outcomes.
• Develop and coordinate medication-use, utilization-review, and performance-improvement programs.
• Assist with educational programs for physicians and nursing staff.
• Oversee clinical students/residency programs.
• Serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, quality standards, and patient-safety requirements.

• Dedicated NICU clinical pharmacy experience or significant NICU-focused experience during a PGY2 residency.
• Demonstrated ability to provide direct clinical pharmacy services to critically ill neonates.
• Active Texas Pharmacy license.

Schedule

• On-call rotation approximately every 8–9 weeks.
• On-site position; travel is not required.
