Job summary

Huckeye Health Services LLC in Houston seeks a pediatric/critical care pharmacist with NICU experience to provide direct clinical pharmacy services to critically ill neonates in a high-acuity setting.

The ideal candidate will have advanced neonatal pharmacotherapy knowledge, participate in multidisciplinary NICU rounds, and review therapy for dosing, safety, and interactions. PGY2 in Pediatrics is required or preferred; NICU experience is essential.

Qualifications

• NICU clinical pharmacy experience is required.
• Direct clinical pharmacy services to critically ill neonates are required.
• Strong knowledge of neonatal pharmacotherapy, dosing, safety and critical-care practice.

• Provide direct clinical pharmacy services to critically ill neonatal patients.
• Participate in multidisciplinary NICU rounds and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Review medication therapy for appropriateness, dosing, safety, interactions, and therapeutic effectiveness.
• Provide pharmacokinetic monitoring and medication recommendations for neonatal patients.
• Support antimicrobial stewardship and medication-safety initiatives.

Job description

Qualifications:

• Completion of a PGY2 Residency in Pediatrics –required/preferred pathway
• Candidates with a PGY2 Residency in Critical Care may be considered if they have current NICU experience
• NICU clinical pharmacy experience – required
• Experience providing direct clinical pharmacy services to critically ill neonates – required
• Strong knowledge of neonatal pharmacotherapy, dosing, medication safety, and critical-care pharmacy practice.
