Job summary

The CDC Foundation is seeking a General Epidemiologist – Hemodialysis and NHSN Coordinator to work with the Nevada DPBH HAI program on data analysis and training for dialysis facilities. The role emphasizes gap assessments, development of training tools, and surveillance of NHSN data to detect trends and outbreaks.

Qualified candidates have a public health background, NHSN experience, and at least two years in hemodialysis settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of public health experience in the program area.
• Experience using CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) as an Administrator.
• 2-year minimum experience working with hemodialysis facilities and patients.

Responsibilities

• Identify outpatient hemodialysis facilities for Infection Prevention Assessments and Response (ICAR) using NHSN data and other data sources.
• Perform statewide surveillance and analysis of NHSN data to monitor trends and outbreaks.
• Assist facilities with NHSN enrollment, training, and reporting requirements.
• Conduct outbreak investigations including COVID-19 and other infectious diseases within state facilities.
• Engage with CMS ESRD Network and improve infection prevention and control in outpatient dialysis settings.
• Participate in CDC's MDS for Patients Coalition and perform landscape analysis of dialysis provision locations.
• Travel throughout the state as needed.
