Responsibilities

• Inspects and grades milled lumber to ensure quality and value.
• Examines lumber on conveyors and racks for defects.
• Checks defects such as knots, stains, decay, and edge faults.
• Grades lumber and marks grades and process instructions.
• Records grade and board footage for inventory.
• Calculates cuts to maximize marketable value.
• Keeps safety guidelines and works with manager and buyers.
• Uses grading stick, computer, and tape measure for measurements.
