Job summary

AbbVie in South San Francisco is seeking a Senior Scientific Director for Oncology Clinical Development (Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma). This full-time role leads the direction, planning, and interpretation of complex NHL-focused trials, guiding cross-functional teams to generate high-quality data that support the product strategy.

The position requires a strong scientific background with 8+ years in clinical trials, a track record of independent program management, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in the sciences; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of clinical trial experience in the pharmaceutical industry, academia, or equivalent.
• Ability to run a complex clinical research program independently.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to bring out the best in others on a cross-functional global team.
• Extensive knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory and compliance requirements governing clinical trials.
• Must possess excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Ability to exercise judgment and address complex problems and create solutions for one or more projects.

Responsibilities

• Leads and demonstrates ownership of the design and implementation of multiple clinical development programs (or one large, complex program) in support of the overall product development plan.
• Oversee study enrollment and timelines for key deliverables.
• Own design, analysis, interpretation and reporting of scientific content of protocols and regulatory submissions.
• May oversee the work of Medical and/or Scientific Directors and Clinical Scientists.
• Participate in Integrated Evidence Strategy Teams and advise on Clinical Development Plans.
