Job summary

One Brooklyn Health is seeking a registered dietitian to oversee nutritional care for residents, perform nutrition screening, and assess needs across age groups. You will develop individualized nutrition plans, screen for nutritional risk, explain diet and drug interactions, and collaborate with physicians to optimize patient progress.

Qualifications

• BA with course work approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Accreditation Council required.

Overview

Responsible for the nutritional care of residents. Performs nutrition screening on assigned residents in accordance with established standards. Responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the residents served. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the resident's needs.

Qualifications

Education

• BA with course work approved by the academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Accreditation Council required.
• Must pass the national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Experience

• No experience required. Prefer individuals that have completed an internship or have some experience in dietetics.

Licenses, Certifications

• Certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) is required.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
• Position will be required to stoops, bends, lifts, carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
