GenScript Biotech Corp. in Piscataway, NJ, onsite, seeks a PhD scientist to lead the development of high-throughput sequencing library prep methods and drive data-driven decisions across the US Molecular Biology Gene R&D Department.

The role requires 2+ years in scalable NGS workflows, design of library preps for Illumina and ONT, and strong programming skills (Python, R, Java). Collaboration across teams and clear data interpretation are essential.

Qualifications

• PhD degrees in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related fields.
• 2+ years of relevant experience developing scalable NGS workflows in pharma/biotech.
• Experience designing customized library preps across high-throughput sequencing platforms (Illumina and ONT).
• Broad molecular biology and microbiology knowledge with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Hands-on with common programming languages (Python, R, Java).
• Experience handling sequencing data (FASTQ, BAM, VCF) and building bioinformatics pipelines.
• Clinical sample NGS library prep experience is a plus.
• Experience with cell-free protein expression is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize high-throughput sequencing library prep methods.
• Manage project timeline and leverage internal resources to push projects forward.
• Generate, analyze, interpret and present data to a broader team.
• Communicate with other teams to ensure smooth tech transfer.
