Job summary

Labcorp in Durham, NC is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer for NGS Operations to support sequencing instruments and high-throughput data processing. The role blends Linux server administration with AWS cloud engineering, distributed computing, and medical device configuration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of IT infrastructure, systems administration, or cloud platform support.
• 2+ years of scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• 1+ years of using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
• 3+ years of supporting and troubleshooting enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer Linux servers supporting NGS instrumentation and genetic data processing workflows.
• Build and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including serverless orchestration for sequencing pipelines.
• Configure and support NGS medical device instrumentation systems.
• Work with grid computing and HPC environments for distributed data processing.
• Develop automation scripts and tools using Python, Bash, and PowerShell, leveraging AI tools to streamline operations.
• Orchestrate data processing pipelines from raw sequencing data through final readable results.
• Collaborate with vendors on system integration, troubleshooting, and new technology implementations.
• Support internal customers with technical guidance and solutions.
• Learn and adapt to rapidly evolving NGS technologies, cloud platforms, and vendor systems.
• Participate in off‑schedule maintenance windows and support activities.
• Engage in regular collaboration with instrumentation and technology vendors.
