Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provides home visits to women and their families eligible for the NFP Program.
  • Adheres to nursing process and the NFP model of home visitation.
  • Carries a caseload of up to 25 clients.
Working Conditions
  • Able to complete duties under stress, deadlines, and while attending to multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Prolonged computer‑related exposure, as well as sitting and standing at workstations for long periods of time.
  • Work assignments will involve travel throughout designated area to multiple locations, including client homes, government and private agencies, and other community partners.

  • Written and Verbal Communication – NHVs need to communicate effectively, openly and consistently with their families, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Time Management – NHVs can flexibly schedule and reschedule a day’s activities based on multiple factors.
  • Listening – interactions between NHVs and clients depend on the NHVs ability to listen attentively and accurately to the client’s current experience.
  • Ability to impose structure – in between and during home visits, NHVs must be able to create structure in moments of confusion, disorganization, or crisis.
