Job summary

Children & Families First seeks a Nurse Home Visitor to deliver comprehensive nursing services to pregnant women and families in the NFP program.

You will conduct home and community visits, support parental strengths, and manage a caseload of 25–30 clients while travelling within New Castle County.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse with an Associate's degree in Nursing and an active RN license.
• Experience in public health, community, and/or maternal-child health required.
• Home visiting experience preferred; labor and delivery experience desirable.
• Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.
• Current CPR required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY

The Nurse-Family Partnership Nurse Home Visitor is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services to women and their families eligible for the NFP Program. Nurse Home Visitors are pivotal in transforming the lives of vulnerable babies, mothers, and families by implementing and maintaining fidelity to the model.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Shares resources, performs health checks, and partners with first-time expectant parents during pregnancy, and until the child is two
• Community-based position visits parents in their home or community location.
• Provide support to parents to uncover their innate strengths and skills as parents.
• The NFP Nurse will carry a caseload of 25-30 clients.
• Extensive model training by the NFP National Service office and ongoing reflective supervision with site supervisors. Individuals must be compassionate nurses with experience in maternal health, labor and delivery and community health nursing.
• Travel required visiting families, attending training and meetings, and adhering to company and program guidelines.
• Position covers travel within New Castle County
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.

EDUCATION, LICENSURE And EXPERIENCE

• Must be a registered nurse with a minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing, with a current RN license (in good standing).
• Experience in public health, community, and/or maternal-child health, required.
• Experience with labor and delivery, desirable.
• Home visiting experience preferred.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish), desirable.
• Current CPR required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, which meets the requirements of the agency’s insurance carrier.
