Job summary

Gateway Church is seeking a NextGen Coordinator to run the administrative and logistical engine for NextGen — kids and youth — at a campus. This base role supports both age groups until staffing milestones are reached, and serves as the first contact for parents and students.

You will coordinate weekly execution, build the Serve Team, manage calendars, handle invoicing and purchases, maintain records, and ensure a smooth guest experience during services and events.

Responsibilities

• Builds and stewards the Serve Team: recruiting, scheduling, training, retention, appreciation.
• Owns ministry scheduling and calendar: services, events, trainings, room/resource reservations.
• Handles administrative processes: requisitions, check requests, expense reports, invoices, vendor payments.
• Maintains ministry records and data: attendance, registrations, follow-up.
• Orders and maintains supplies and materials for the ministry.
• Serves as liaison between campus ministry and area support teams.
• Prepares spaces and materials for services/events; resolves issues before, during, after services.
• Participates in cross-campus ministry meetings; reports local realities to Pastor.
• Tracks ministry measures and reports results to Pastor.
• Coordinates across kids and youth environments; supports Pastors.
• Supports check-in and guest experience for kids/youth environments.
• Coordinates background checks and screening for NextGen Serve Team members.
• Coordinates registrations and logistics for camps, retreats, and events.
• Responds to parent questions and routes concerns to Pastor.
• Is present and serving at weekend services and churchwide events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This is the base NextGen support seat: it carries both age groups until the campus reaches an attendance point where both a Kids Coordinator and a Youth Coordinator are needed. This role does not carry pastoral duties but is often the first point of contact for parents and students.

Principal Job Responsibilities:** **

• Coordinates the week-to-week execution of NextGen — kids and youth at the campus, within the plan the Pastor owns




• Builds and stewards the Serve Team for the ministry: recruiting, scheduling, training, retention, and appreciation




• Owns the ministry’s scheduling and calendar, including services, events, trainings, and room and resource reservations




• Handles the ministry’s administrative processes: purchase requisitions, check requests, expense reports, invoices, and vendor payments within the approved threshold




• Maintains the ministry’s records and data in the church database, including attendance, registrations, and follow-up




• Orders and maintains the supplies, resources, and materials the ministry needs




• Serves as a point of contact between the campus ministry and the area teams that support it




• Prepares spaces and materials for services and events, and is present before, during, and after services to resolve issues as they arise




• Participates in the cross-campus meeting for the ministry and raises local realities into it




• Tracks the measures for the ministry and reports what they show to the Pastor




• Coordinates across both kids and youth environments, supporting the Pastor over each




• Supports check-in and the guest experience for kids and youth environments




• Coordinates background checks and screening for NextGen Serve Team members

• Responds to parent and guardian questions and routes concerns to the right Pastor

As a member of the Gateway Church team, this position is expected to support, recruit, and develop Serve Team members, and to serve alongside the broader team as ministry and organizational needs arise.

• High school diploma or equivalent, and two or more years of administrative, coordination, or ministry experience — required




• Bachelor’s degree — preferred




• Prior experience in a multisite church environment — preferred
