Gateway Church invites applications for a part-time NextGen Worship Lead (Support) to nurture worship across Kids, Youth, and Young Adult environments at a campus. You will train volunteers, plan schedules, and lead worship with support from the Regional Next Gen Associate Worship Pastor.
You’ll develop young leaders, run rehearsals, and collaborate with the Campus Worship Pastor on platform needs while upholding churchwide standards locally. Weekend presence is expected.
Job Summary: The NextGen Worship Lead (Support) role facilitates worship in Kids, Youth, and Young Adult environments at an assigned campus in partnership with the Campus Worship Pastor. This part-time permanent role cares for campus Next Gen worship teams, trains worship leaders and musicians, plans and schedules worship-related events, and leads worship. With support from the Regional Next Gen Associate Worship Pastor, the Team Lead carries the churchwide Next Gen worship standards into each campus environment.
Builds and stewards the NextGen worship Serve Team at the campus: recruiting, training, scheduling, retention, and appreciation
Executes the set lists, Ableton/Playback sessions, and service plans provided by Next Gen Worship rather than creating a separate standard
Develops young worship leaders and musicians at the campus, and mentors students on the team
Runs rehearsals and pre-service preparation for NextGen environments at the campus
Partners with the Campus Worship Pastor and campus NextGen leadership on platform, scheduling, and shared needs
Raises local realities and needs to the Regional NextGen Associate Worship Pastor rather than absorbing them
Supports campus NextGen events, camps, and team nights
Is present and serving at weekend services and churchwide events as the ministry calendar requires
Performs other duties as assigned.
As a member of the Gateway Church team, this position is expected to support, recruit, and develop Serve Team members, and to serve alongside the broader team as ministry and organizational needs arise.
General Skills & Qualifications: A clear passion for Jesus and a strong biblical foundation A heart for students and kids, with the ability to lead worship in their environments Musical craft and talent, with proficiency as a worship leader on voice and at least one instrument Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and retain volunteers Able to take direction on standards from Central while owning execution locally Consistently growing in craft, character, and leadership capacity Professional in punctuality, communication, and appearance Demonstrated emotional and relational intelligence Strong time-management skills and the ability to hold several priorities at once Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn and function within new software and systems
Education/Certification(s): High school diploma or equivalent, and one or more years of worship leading experience — required Experience leading kids or student worship — preferred Prior experience in a multisite church environment — preferred

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to: Sit or stand for extended periods of time Occasionally kneel or crouch Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Able to lift and move instruments and equipment up to 40 lbs, and available to work weekends and evenings as the ministry calendar requires
