Job summary
The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA, is seeking an experienced Systems Director to lead the Next Gen OPIR – GEO development and operations. This on-site, multi-site role directs a multidisciplinary team across El Segundo, Sunnyvale, and Denver to deliver NGG satellites and ensure mission readiness.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in space vehicle development, test, spacecraft operations, and space-ground software integration, with strong systems engineering and security clearance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
- 12+ years in space system acquisition or systems engineering with technical leadership.
- Experience with matrixed engineering organizations.
- End-to-end knowledge of space system operations.
- Program Office experience with contractors and government customers.
- Ability to obtain and maintain US government security clearance; US citizenship required.
Responsibilities
- Establish objectives, allocate resources, and guide budget planning.
- Lead enterprise requirements trades and space enterprise level testing.
- Coordinate anomaly investigations and guidance to USSF customers.
- Support baseline mission operations and next-gen mission initialization.
