Job summary

The New York Times Company is seeking an Operations Manager to join Newsroom Operations, supporting Styles, Well, Real Estate, and other Culture and Lifestyle departments. You will help editors during breaking news, plan culture-building activities, and manage Workday processes for new hires and expenses.

This hybrid role is based in New York City with in-office attendance required weekly per department guidance, reporting to the Senior Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in an operational or administrative role.
• Experience working with senior leadership and large teams.
• Able to manage heavy volume of requests and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and update attendance for regular meetings and events.
• Support editors during breaking news to ensure rapid work delivery.
• Plan and execute culture-building activities for departments.
• Manage staff expenses in Workday and align with policy limits.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable for the department.
• Coordinate desk moves with Facilities and other teams.
• Assist HR and Recruiting with position management transactions.
• Facilitate Workday onboarding and training for new employees.
