Job summary

NBCUniversal invites students to join its Fall 2026 Internship Program in San Jose, CA. This paid internship offers 20 hours per week and exposure to a major market newsroom at KNTV Newsroom, with opportunities to work across assignment desks, producers, writers, editors, and reporters.

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program during the entire internship.
• Current class standing of Junior or above.
• Must be presently authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship.
• Must be available to work 20 hours per week during the internship.
• Must be willing to work in San Jose, CA.

Responsibilities

• Assist assignment editors, show producers, package producers, writers, editors, and reporters.
• Identify/pitch compelling stories and follow up on leads.
• Support fact-checking and story development, and obtain clearances.
• Identify story sources/experts and pre-interview subjects.
• Log breaking news events and assist in news gathering.
