Job summary

NewsNation in New York is seeking an Executive Producer to manage the production of special programming and longform for the network and partners. The role leads content development, creative direction, planning and budgets, logistics, field shoots, editing and delivery with a focus on longform and documentary.

The Executive Producer collaborates with network leadership on special events and network-wide initiatives, requiring strong leadership and a vision for ratings success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Fifteen+ years producing longform and investigative content.
• Strong news judgement and ability to guide editorial vision.

Responsibilities

• Work with network leadership on the editorial vision for special programming and longform content.
• Conceptualize ideas for specials.
• Oversee research, planning, field shoots and postproduction.
• Supervise staff working on the programs.
• Ensure editorial content meets NewsNation standards.

NewsNation Executive Producer, Special Programming & Longform (New York)

NewsNation is looking for an executive producer to be responsible for managing the production of special programming and longform for the network and our partners. The Executive Producer leads content development, creative direction, planning and budgets, logistics, field shoots, editing, and delivery with an emphasis on longform and documentary. The Executive Producer will also collaborate with other network leadership on special events and network-wide initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work with NewsNation network leadership team on the overall editorial vision for special programming and longform content
• Conceptualize ideas for specials
• Oversee research, planning, field shoots and postproduction
• Supervise employees working on the programs
• Ensure editorial content meets NewsNation standards and practices
• Must be attuned to cross-platform strategies to have brand consistency across broadcast and digital
• Must have a vision and develop strategies to ensure ratings success
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fifteen plus years’ experience producing longform and investigative content
• Strong news judgement
• Quick decision maker and creative thinker
• Effective coach and mentor to staff of all experience levels
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to adapt to change, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency with ENPS
• Flexibility to adjust schedule and assignments as network’s needs evolve

Salary Range: $180,000 – 200,000(commensurate with experience)
