Nexstar Media is seeking a skilled Newscast Director to lead live and recorded productions across television, streaming, and digital platforms. You will direct control room operations, coordinate cameras, audio, graphics, and staff to deliver engaging local news and special coverage.

The role requires leadership, the ability to work under pressure, and collaboration with newsroom, digital, and engineering teams to ensure high‑quality broadcasts across platforms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degree in Broadcast Production, Communications, Journalism, Media Production, or a related field preferred.
• At least two years of experience in television production, directing, or newsroom operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct live newscasts, special coverage, and locally produced programming.
• Lead control room operations, coordinating cameras, audio, graphics, and production staff.
• Produce and oversee content for broadcast, streaming, OTT, CTV, and FAST channels.
• Direct breaking news, weather, sports, election coverage, and special events.
• Operate and manage live‑streaming technologies, including VMIX, OBS, and related production systems.
• Partner with newsroom, digital, and engineering teams to deliver high‑quality productions across multiple platforms.
• Train and mentor production staff while helping develop best practices and workflows.
