Job summary

Sinclair Inc. in the United States is seeking a Newscast Director for WSET. You will direct and TD newscasts and special productions, maintain studio and control room, and operate robotic cameras in a fast-paced morning shift.

Ideal candidates have experience directing newscasts, strong knowledge of production standards and equipment, and the ability to give clear direction under pressure. A college degree is preferred and you must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Full-time benefits are provided.

Job description

WSET is looking for a Newscast Director.

Responsibilities:

Perform any production duties as assigned including:

• Direct and TD any assigned newscasts and special productions using Ross Overdrive
• Maintain studio and control room
• Studio floor manager
• Operation of robotic cameras
• Teleprompter operator
• Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned
• This is a morning shift, Monday through Friday 4am - 1pm. But you must also be willing to work holidays, nights, and weekends as needed for fill in

Requirements:

• Experience directing newscasts
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment
• Ability to clearly give direction to crew while under pressure
• Ability to read and write, college degree preferred
• Must be able to lift & position equipment of up to 40 pounds

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $17.79 to $18.89 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
