Job summary

Sinclair Inc. in Bristol, TN seeks a Production Assistant to join our team and gain hands-on experience in television news and live production. You will work with the news and production teams to prepare and execute daily newscasts across broadcast and digital platforms.

No prior television experience is required; training will be provided. This role offers the chance to learn multiple production roles while contributing to live broadcasts, with a base hourly pay and full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn multiple production roles and work as part of a team.
• Dependable, organized, and able to adapt quickly during live productions.
• Ability to lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate studio equipment, including cameras, audio, and graphics systems.
• Prepare and manage on-air graphics and fonts for newscasts.
• Assist with studio, set, and lighting preparation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and broadcast-ready studio.
• Assist with guest coordination and studio needs.
• Edit video for newscasts, web stories, and other digital platforms.
• Write and prepare stories for daily newscasts and digital platforms.
• Conduct research and gather information for news stories.
• Assist with video and tape editing as needed.
• Support the production team during live broadcasts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WCYB is looking for a motivated and dependable Production Assistant to join our team and help bring our newscasts to life. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in television news and learning multiple aspects of live production.

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $16.50 to $18.77. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
