Job summary

Sinclair Broadcast Group's WCYB in Bristol, VA is seeking a motivated Production Assistant to join our newsroom team and help bring daily newscasts to life.

You'll learn multiple production roles, operate studio equipment, edit video for broadcasts and digital platforms, and assist with on-air graphics and guest coordination. Training is provided; no prior TV experience is required.

Qualifications

• No prior television experience is required; training will be provided.
• Education, coursework, or internship in television, broadcasting, communications, media production, or related field is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Willingness to learn multiple production roles and work as part of a team.
• Dependable, organized, and able to adapt quickly during live productions.
• Ability to lift and carry 25–50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

As a Production Assistant, you’ll work closely with our news and production teams to prepare and execute daily newscasts across broadcast and digital platforms.

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $16.50 to $18.77. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
