Job summary

WNEM-TV/Gray Media is seeking a dynamic Producer to create, coordinate, and write content across broadcast, web, digital, and social platforms. The producer shows creativity, deadline‑driven focus, and teamwork to deliver high‑quality news for on‑air and online audiences.

You will gather news tips, develop story ideas, coordinate interviews, and support the newsroom flow with a sense of urgency for breaking news, while collaborating with editors and photographers to produce engaging segments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or related field, or equivalent training/experience.
• At least two years of experience in broadcast media and social media.
• Experience using a content management system (CMS) is a plus.
• Strong editorial skills and working knowledge of AP and Broadcast Style preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write scripts for multiple platforms including broadcast, web, and social media.
• Previews news material before airing or posting to the web.
• Prepares possible interview segments.
• Coordinates breaking news and executes the newscast in the control room.
• Contributes content to web and multimedia efforts.
• Monitors news sources and social media to ensure coverage.
• Discerning news tips, gather information, distribute to newsroom, set up interviews.
• Conceptualizes innovative graphic and pre-production elements.
• Monitors and improves look and execution of newscasts.
