Job summary

The Minnesota Star Tribune is seeking an Advertising Internship at our Minneapolis HQ to gain hands-on experience in ad operations, marketing, and sales. You’ll be embedded with a dedicated team and collaborate across groups to learn and contribute on real campaigns.

As a junior or recent grad focusing on sales or marketing, you’ll develop prospecting skills, master tools like Hubspot and Google Analytics, and build professional proposals while supporting Account Executives and Marketing teams.

Qualifications

• Must be a junior, senior, or recent grad in undergraduate studies, with a focus on sales and/or marketing.
• Excellent verbal, written and over-the-phone communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint with Teams experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment to develop and maintain relationships.
• Strong customer service orientation, organization skills, and attention to detail.
• Interest in research and continuous learning.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

This Advertising Internship at our headquarters in Minneapolis MN will help you gain experience in many aspects of ad operations, marketing, and sales. You’ll be embedded within a specific team but work across groups to gain knowledge and experience. Our internshipis hands‑on and actsas a feeder program to future Star Tribune careers.

• Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TM, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Compensation

This is a paid, full-time internship (40 hours per week) with a duration of up to one year and a pay rate of $18.00 per hour. For the right candidate, a flexible part-time schedule may also be considered. We are seeking someone who is available to start immediately.

The office environment will have normal lighting and climate control tolerances. Work from home office environment may differ from the physical offices in Minneapolis, MN.
