VERSANT Media, headquartered in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, is seeking a News Editor to manage news flow and desk operations for CNBC and related outlets. This role coordinates reporters, field producers and editorial teams to ensure timely, accurate coverage of developing stories.

You will edit scripts, set up live remotes, and shape coverage with senior editors. Weekend work and in-depth financial markets knowledge are essential, along with teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or related years of experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a television newsroom.
• Strong organization, leadership, copy editing and journalism fundamentals.
• Must be able to work weekends.
• Knowledge of CNBC content and financial markets.

Responsabilités

• Direct news flow on the assignment desk, including breaking news and source reporting.
• Coordinate reporters, field producers and staff for assigned stories.
• Collaborate with senior editors and shows to plan coverage of daily events.
• Set up and coordinate live remotes.
• Develop longer term coverage with planning teams.
• Build relationships with external news sources for reliable information.
• Lead beat coverage, edit and fact check scripts.
• Create short-range plans to meet editorial goals.
• Craft breaking headlines with anchors and producers.
• Handle headline decisions quickly under pressure.
