Job summary

VERSANT Media is seeking a seasoned Wall Street Editor to build and lead expanded coverage of deals, banks, brokers and asset managers for CNBC and related platforms. The editor will guide reporters, prioritize coverage, and deliver exclusive scoops across television and digital channels.

The role requires 10+ years editing for a major business publication, strong finance knowledge, and a proven ability to hire and manage reporting teams to secure major breakthroughs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience editing for a major business publication
• 3+ years building and managing reporting teams that deliver significant scoops
• Ability to edit complicated stories for a broad audience
• Strong understanding of finance and deals and ability to prioritize coverage
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills

Responsibilities

• Expand and manage CNBC’s Wall Street coverage including deals, finance and banking
• Hire reporters and work with existing staff to deliver major scoops
• Launch initiative on deals, dealmakers and deal analysis
• Develop strategies to engage readers and broaden CNBC’s digital and television audience
• Generate strong analytical stories about key financial events
• Coordinate between CNBC’s television and digital offerings, leveraging the capabilities of each to dominate coverage of deals and finance
