OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full-power broadcast television stations in the U.S., including stations in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas (DMAs), with duopolies in 11 DMAs, including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. The stations distribute sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, and produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly, leveraging viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX 35 Orlando seeks a dynamic, engaging, and experienced journalist to anchor our weekend evening newscasts. This role involves enterprise investigative content during the week, filling in for other anchors, and collaborating with news managers and producers to develop content and strategies for weekend broadcasts.
We desire a proactive professional with a proven track record of investigative journalism, tough questioning, and producing engaging content for both broadcast and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will be a leading figure in the market, respected by peers, and a confident community leader.
The anchor team comprises highly experienced journalists known for professionalism and confidence. They are community and newsroom leaders.
Job-related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Physical Requirements:
Regularly standing, walking, sitting, reaching, talking, and hearing. Occasionally climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Vision includes close, distance, color, and focus adjustment.
Qualifications:
Minimum three years’ experience as a reporter or anchor in a medium or large market preferred.
Education: College degree in communications, journalism, or related field preferred.
Other skills include good judgment, storytelling, probing questions, effective ad-libbing, strong writing, current events knowledge, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and familiarity with newsroom technology.
