Overview

Explore an exciting opportunity with AHWFB Pediatric Department as we welcome a skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) or Physician Assistant to join our inpatient team in Winston-Salem, NC. This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week and benefits eligibility.

Position details include department and practice location: 01450 WFBMG University Group Practice: WFBMC Main - Pediatrics: General. Schedule varies. Pay range is $51.05 - $76.60 per hour.

Responsibilities

The clinician (PA/PNP) will play a key role in team-focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include:

• Use medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plans.
• Collaborate with the medical team for effective team-based care.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
• Perform procedures per department or practice guidelines.
• Precept students and/or medical learners when possible.
• Uphold AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitment.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
• Work under the regulatory mandate from the respective licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental credentialing from the institution.

Qualifications

Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred
• Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA
• Minimum of one year of provider experience in newborn medicine
• BLS and NRP are required

Nurse Practitioner Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s Program; Master’s degree or higher required
• Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
• Board certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care (NNP, PNP-AC, and PNP-PC, FNP are acceptable) by AANP, ANCC or PNCB
• Minimum of one year of provider experience in newborn medicine
• BLS, PNCB and NRP are required
