The Elite Nanny Team is recruiting an experienced, nurturing, and highly skilled Newborn Care Specialist for a wonderful family in Washington, DC. This exceptional opportunity is ideal for a professional infant specialist who genuinely loves newborns, understands early childhood development, and takes pride in providing attentive, individualized infant care.
The family is seeking a knowledgeable, dependable newborn nanny who can confidently manage their one-month-old baby's daily routines while creating a peaceful, stimulating, and developmentally supportive environment.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands‑on experience caring for newborns, a thorough understanding of infant feeding and sleep patterns, and a warm, patient personality. This family values professionalism, open communication, discretion, and a proactive approach to infant care.
Enjoy a rewarding four-day workweek, competitive hourly compensation, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a baby's earliest developmental milestones!
Provide attentive, one‑on‑one newborn care throughout the scheduled workday.
Prepare bottles using expressed breast milk or formula according to parental instructions and appropriate safety guidelines.
Wash, sanitize, and organize baby bottles, nipples, pacifiers, and feeding accessories.
Change diapers frequently while maintaining excellent infant hygiene and skin care.
Support healthy, age‑appropriate sleep routines while consistently following safe sleep guidelines.
Monitor and document the baby's feeding times, diaper changes, naps, and daily activities.
Engage the infant through gentle conversation, reading aloud, singing lullabies, and responsive interaction.
Introduce supervised tummy time and age‑appropriate activities that encourage early motor development.
Provide comforting, responsive care during periods of fussiness, growth spurts, and developmental changes.
Maintain a clean, organized nursery, including changing areas, bassinets, and infant supplies.

Minimum of 3 years of professional newborn or infant care experience, preferably in private households.
Demonstrated expertise caring for infants from birth through 12 months.
Current Infant CPR and First Aid certifications.
Strong knowledge of newborn development, infant safety, feeding schedules, and age‑appropriate sleep routines.

Understanding of safe sleep practices and American Academy of Pediatrics infant sleep safety recommendations.
Ability to recognize infant hunger cues, signs of discomfort, and changes in feeding or sleeping patterns.
Experience supporting breastfeeding mothers and following family‑established feeding preferences.
Familiarity with infant developmental milestones, sensory stimulation, and age‑appropriate tummy time.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide detailed daily updates to parents.

Dependable, punctual, organized, and committed to maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
A positive attitude, exceptional patience, and a genuine passion for newborn care.
Competitive hourly compensation: $28.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on professional experience and newborn care qualifications.
Consistent 38‑hour workweek: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM.
Three-day weekends: Enjoy Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays off.
Dedicated infant care position: Focus on nurturing and supporting one newborn rather than managing multiple children.
