The Nanny Poppins Agency in McLean, VA is seeking an experienced daytime newborn nanny for a 12–16 week temporary role. You will provide full daytime care for the newborn, including feeding, soothing, and developmental activities, with live-in or live-out options.

Applicants should have in-home newborn experience, a strong newborn care background (preferred), fluent English, reliable transportation, and comfortable interaction with dogs.

Responsabilidades

• Provide full daytime care for newborns, including feeding, burping, diapering, bathing, dressing, and soothing.
• Prepare bottles and manage feeding routines as directed by parents.
• Follow feeding and nap schedules set with the overnight caregiver.
• Maintain clear written logs of feedings, diapers, and naps.
• Leave notes and texts with updates for overnight caregiver and parents.
• Adhere to safe sleep practices at all times.
• Engage baby with age-appropriate activities: tummy time, gentle play, and face-to-face interaction.
• Read, sing, and play music with the baby throughout the day.
• Support early development and communicate observations to parents.
• Launder, fold, and organize baby clothing and supplies; keep nursery tidy and stocked.
• Clean and sterilize bottles and pump parts as needed.
• Keep changing station and diaper bag stocked; track baby supplies and shop as needed.
• Occasional baby-related errands (no driving the baby).

Location: McLean, VA
Compensation: $40–$55/hour, based on experience
Commitment: Temporary, 12–16 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday or Monday–Saturday, 8:00am–4:00pm (five to six days per week)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week (up to 48 with a sixth day)

Position Overview
A family in McLean, Virginia is looking for a warm, dependable, experienced daytime newborn nanny to care for their son, due in early December 2026. This is a temporary role lasting 12–16 weeks, and it can be live-in or live-out. The job is focused entirely on attentive, hands‑on care of the newborn during the day. The family wants someone calm, quiet, and consistent who has real experience caring for infants in a private home.

The household already has a housekeeper, a personal assistant, and a social media manager, so you’ll need to be comfortable working alongside other staff. The family also has three friendly dogs: a Mini Goldendoodle and two Pomeranians. A separate overnight newborn care provider covers nights, and your shifts won’t overlap. You’ll keep in touch through written notes and texts so the baby’s feeding, sleep, and daily routines stay consistent around the clock.

Responsibilities:

• Full daytime care of the newborn, including feeding, burping, diapering, bathing, dressing, and soothing

• Following and reinforcing the feeding and nap schedule set with the overnight caregiver
• Keeping a clear written log of feedings, diapers, and naps
• Leaving notes and texting updates for the overnight caregiver and parents
• Following safe sleep practices at all times
• Age‑appropriate engagement, including tummy time, gentle play, and face‑to‑face interaction
• Reading, playing music, and singing with the baby throughout the day
• Supporting healthy early development and sharing observations with the parents
• Washing, folding, and putting away the baby’s clothing, bedding, and burp cloths
• Keeping the nursery clean, organized, and restocked
• Cleaning and sterilizing bottles, pump parts, and feeding supplies
• Keeping the changing station and diaper bag stocked
• Tracking baby supplies and shopping for them as needed
• Occasional baby‑related errands (no driving the baby)

Requirements:

• In‑home experience caring for newborns and infants (required)
• Newborn Care Specialist or doula background (strongly preferred)
• Solid understanding of newborn feeding, sleep, and development
• Kind, considerate, and quiet presence
• Consistent and reliable, with a track record of punctuality and follow‑through
• Clear written communication and comfort coordinating with an overnight caregiver
• Fluent English (Spanish a plus, not required)
• Valid driver’s license; reliable personal vehicle preferred for occasional errands
• Comfortable around dogs
