Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Birth Registrar credentials preferred.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Excel preferred.
• Knowledge of Florida Statutes, HIPAA HiTech, and related laws preferred.
• Strong analytical and computer skills; good communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Process birth certificates for newborn encounters within 5 days as required by Florida.
• Monitor OB census to ensure timely turnaround per Florida Statutes.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to resolve PHI discrepancies for state intake forms.
• Issue paternal documentation for birth certificate creation to parents for signatures.
• Coordinate with Home Safe program liaison for Healthy Start enrollment where applicable.
• Coordinate with nursing for newborn discharge and update tracking boards.
• Coordinate with financial team for proper billing of surrogate cases.
• Report urgent issues to OB Manager/Director and provide weekly turnaround time reports.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
