Job summary

Uber's Strategic Finance team invites you to join our New York City headquarters for a summer internship. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to support financial planning, forecasting, and analysis, delivering a business recommendation to leadership.

You’ll build and refine financial models, apply business judgment to evaluate new initiatives, and help drive efficiency as Uber scales from startup to enterprise. The program also provides exposure to the Finance Development Program.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BS/BA program in Finance, Accounting, Economics or similar field (graduation Winter 2027 / Spring 2028). Misrepresentation may affect opportunities.
• Basic knowledge of GAAP and experience with Excel.
• Minimum 1 year of involvement in extracurricular groups, activities, or internship opportunities.
• Experience in FP&A, investment banking, management consulting or private equity.
• Leadership positions in extracurricular activities.
• Understanding of GAAP, enterprise-level financial planning systems, SQL, and/or statistical software.
• Outstanding analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to structure effective presentations.
• AI readiness: interest in and comfort with AI tools.

About the Role

Uber's Strategic Finance team is uniquely positioned to have transparency into Uber’s overall global business and to use financial & operational data to reach insights others might not be able to make. The team is responsible for working closely with cross-functional teams to support financial planning, tracking key financial metrics, driving efficiency, and making product and business recommendations.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support one of our high growth businesses and use insights to help Uber prioritize initiatives and reach conclusions. As part of the summer program, your deliverable will be a business recommendation to the Strategic Finance Leadership team. Interns will also gain exposure to Uber’s Finance Development Program and learn more about potential career paths within Finance.

This position is based in our New York City headquarters.

What You’ll Do

• Financial Planning: be part of the team that is responsible for financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis for Uber’s global business
• Strategic Thinking: Apply business judgment and financial insights to assist with decision making related to new initiatives, products, and business opportunities
• Financial Modeling: Build intricate financial models from scratch, improve existing models, and break complex models down into component parts
• Operational Excellence: Lead initiatives that help us scale from startup to enterprise

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BS/BA program in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a similar field (graduation date Winter 2027 / Spring 2028)

For New York City, NY-based roles: The base hourly rate amount for this role is USD $32.80 per hour.
