Chord Energy is seeking an experienced Geoscientist to join the New Ventures team in downtown Houston, TX. The role focuses on evaluating both conventional and unconventional subsurface plays with data gathering, interpretation, risk assessment, and input to investment decisions.

Responsibilities span geological modelling, pre-drill risk analyses, due diligence support, and cross-functional collaboration to improve exploration and development strategies across assets and prospective plays.

Competenze

Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Geophysics, or related geoscience discipline.
10+ years of active exploration and production experience.
Proficiency in industry-standard geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, or equivalent).
Demonstrated hands-on experience evaluating unconventional resource plays.

Mansioni

Conduct detailed geological and geophysical studies to identify and evaluate new opportunities.
Develop and interpret geological models to support exploration and production decisions.
Predict subsurface drivers for well performance and define type curves.
Perform pre-drill risk assessments for proposed drill locations.
Support due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures with geological input.
Assist business development with subsurface evaluation around deal flow.
