• Faith-based institution requiring Christian commitment and alignment with SNU mission.
• Earned doctorate in New Testament from an accredited institution; ABD candidates may be considered.
• Commitment to the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition and Church of the Nazarene.
• Membership in the Church of the Nazarene.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with students to exemplify the motto “Character, Culture, Christ” and fulfill SNU’s mission.
• Teach 12 hours per semester in New Testament areas and General Education for the department.
• Advise and mentor students with majors in the School of Theology and Ministry.
• Participate in the spiritual life of the SNU campus.
• Assist with assessment for School of Theology and Ministry programs and General Education courses.
• Ability to engage in critical thinking and spark interest in undergraduate students.
• Collaborate with other faculty and staff and maintain collegial relations.

Job Summary

The School of Theology and Ministry seeks a full-time professor in New Testament on the Bethany, Oklahoma main campus. Rank based on previous experience and qualifications. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively within the department and with other disciplines across campus. They will be an energetic teacher who is able to innovate in the classroom and spark curiosity in the minds of traditional undergraduate students, both among our majors and across the student population in General Education courses. Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with students to exemplify the motto “Character, Culture, Christ” as well as fulfill SNU’s mission to make Christ-like disciples in higher education.
• Teach 12 hours per semester in the areas of New Testament Greek, New Testament exegesis, and General Education for the department.
• Advise and mentor students with majors in the School of Theology and Ministry.
• Participate in the spiritual life of the SNU campus.
• Assist with assessment for School of Theology and Ministry programs and General Education courses taught in the department.
• Ability to engage in critical thinking.
• Ability to spark interest and curiosity in traditional undergraduate students.
• Ability to collaborate with other faculty and staff, and maintain collegial relations.
• Highly relational.

Required Qualifications:

• Southern Nazarene University is an expression of the Church of the Nazarene. • Earned doctorate in New Testament from an accredited institution. ABD candidates may also be considered.
• Commitment to the Wesleyan theological tradition.

• Commitment to the preparation of both women and men for ministry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completed doctorate
• Prior successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level in face-to-face setting
• Experience in contexts of diversity in research, scholarship and teaching
• Ordination in the Church of the Nazarene

Receives supervision and course assignments from the Chair of the School of Theology and Ministry.
