Midday, you huddle with suppliers, confirm validation plans, and update scope, budget, and risk registers. In the afternoon, you’re on the floor partnering with operations to troubleshoot a mold setup, analyze yield data in Excel, and implement a process tweak that lifts first-pass quality. You wrap with crisp stakeholder updates and a clear plan for tomorrow’s milestones.What you’ll ownProject Management & New Product DevelopmentDrive multiple new and revised product launches from purchase order through production release.Orchestrate design, material selection, tooling, process development, validation, and customer approvals.Control scope, schedule, cost, risks, and deliverables to ensure on-time, on-budget results.Provide transparent status updates and milestone communication to customers, suppliers, and internal teams.Anticipate obstacles and implement mitigation plans to keep programs on track.Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing SupportPartner with operations, quality, maintenance, and production to elevate efficiency, product quality, and safety.Lead troubleshooting on molds, equipment, materials, processes, and manufacturing methods.Participate in DFM reviews and collaborate on cost-reduction initiatives.Leverage data analysis to identify and implement process improvements that move key metrics.Evaluate, source, and commission new equipment and technologies to enable growth and CI.Technical LeadershipSupport existing products, special projects, and unique customer requests.Interpret prints and specifications, including GD&T requirements.Assist with quality planning, validation activities, and customer-driven engineering changes.Maintain documentation aligned with our quality management system requirements.Required qualificationsBachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field.3+ years of project management experience in a custom manufacturing setting.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and build strong customer relationships.Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Excel.Exceptional problem-solving, organization, and analytical skills.Preferred qualificationsBackground in sourcing, specifying, and implementing manufacturing equipment.Familiarity with automated vision inspection systems.Experience with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems and internal auditing.Knowledge of:What success looks likeProactive, hands-on problem solver who embraces challenges.Comfortable collaborating from the production floor to executive and customer meetings.Detail-driven, accountable, and fast-moving.Adaptable; balances planned work with urgent priorities.Continuously improving processes and outcomes.The MD DifferenceOur people are our advantage.
