Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily manufacturing operations to ensure production, quality, delivery, and cost targets are achieved.
  • Prioritize and manage production schedules based on customer demand, new product introductions, equipment availability, and material supply.
  • Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to address operational challenges and improve efficiency.
  • Develop staffing plans and manpower requirements to support business and production objectives.
  • Coach, develop, and evaluate employees to build a high-performing, engaged, and accountable workforce.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues and optimize production processes.
  • Support new product introductions and process improvements to ensure smooth transitions into production.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures and drive adherence to manufacturing best practices.
  • Monitor KPIs and utilize data to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational excellence.
  • Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets, resource planning, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support capital equipment planning and recommendations to improve manufacturing capability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and quality standards.

As a Manufacturing Supervisor , you will play a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence, developing employees, and ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day production operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role partners closely with Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams to support production schedules, product introductions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who can motivate teams, solve problems, and drive performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise daily manufacturing operations to ensure production, quality, delivery, and cost targets are achieved.
  • Prioritize and manage production schedules based on customer demand, new product introductions, equipment availability, and material supply.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
  • Experience managing production schedules, workforce planning, and operational performance metrics.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong leadership and employee development skills.
  • Ability to motivate and manage teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and shifts.
  • Experience utilizing ERP, MES, or other manufacturing systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or related methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE

$38.90 - $58.35

This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.

Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on

multiple factors, including job‑related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work

location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as

you develop within the role.

Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the

Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular

employees working 20+ hours a week).
