Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Manager, NPI Manufacturing for a client developing advanced high-power energy infrastructure.
This individual will own the New Product Introduction (NPI) process as a medium-voltage power conversion platform transitions from technology development into productization. The role will lead demonstration, pilot, and certification builds; establish and operate an internal NPI line; and manage contract manufacturer (CM) engagement from technology transfer through production ramp.
This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity for someone who has taken complex power conversion products from engineering prototypes through validation builds and into sustained production. The successful candidate will work closely with electrical and mechanical engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, certification, reliability, PLM, testing, contract manufacturers, and component suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Own NPI project plans spanning phase-gate reviews, EVT/DVT/PVT builds, production ramp readiness, schedules, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Manage the master build schedule and readiness plans covering part availability, tooling, fixtures, and outstanding engineering changes.
- Design, equip, establish, and manage an internal NPI production area, including assembly tooling, equipment, test fixtures, inventory systems, and build documentation.
- Lead the NPI team across certification, reliability, PLM integration, manufacturing engineering, testing, and production builds.
- Serve as the lead manufacturing interface with contract manufacturers, translating designs into repeatable manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and production flows.
- Coordinate tooling and fixtures, supplier qualification, long‑lead components, and initial CM builds.
- Drive Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, and Testability (DFM/DFA/DFT) throughout the development process.
- Use build results to improve manufacturability, first‑pass yield, and cost ahead of volume production.
- Maintain complete manufacturing documentation and BOM structures within the PLM system.
- Manage ECO-driven changes, including change cutovers, configuration management, and serial-number effectivity.
- Establish NPI reporting and KPIs, including time to market, first‑pass yield, build cycle time, cost variance, on‑time delivery, launch readiness, and open risks.
- Travel domestically and internationally to contract manufacturer and supplier sites.
Compensation: Salary 150k/year-$180k/year
