Job summary

MSA, The Safety Company is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineering co-op in Cranberry Township to assist process excellence engineers with workshops, data collection, and project management.

You will help with process mapping, time studies, and Lean/Kaizen activities while supporting SAP S/4HANA implementation and data gathering from plants. The role requires pursuing an ABET-accredited IE degree and at least one sophomore year completed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an ABET-accredited Industrial Engineering (or related) degree.
• At least one semester of Sophomore year completed.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Process Excellence Engineers with workshops and project management.
• Assist Launch Managers with process mapping and documentation.
• Support SAP S/4HANA implementation through data collection and mapping.
• Conduct time studies and assist with methods analysis.
• Support Lean, Kaizen, 6S, and Value Stream Mapping activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Process Excellence Engineers with workshops, process analysis, and project management
• Assist Launch Managers with process mapping and documentation
• Assist with SAP S/4HANA implementation through process mapping, gathering data from plants, etc.
• Time studies
• Methods analysis and improvement
• Process Sequence Flow Mapping
• Utilize simulation software to analyze current processes
• Layout work (equipment and work station)
• Lean, Kaizen, 6S and Value Stream Mapping activities
• Identify 8 wastes in processes and engage with shop floor associates during improvement activities

Qualifications

Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

• Basic experience with data analysis, methods and graphing.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Tools, with a special emphasis on Excel

Education and experience required:

Must be pursuing a Bachelors in Industrial Engineering, or other relevant Engineering discipline, from an ABET-accredited program, and have completed at least one semester of Sophomore year before beginning this co-op rotation.
